Proactive Patrol Leads to Weapons ChargeWhile conducting mobile patrols in Blandford, a Neighbourhood Policing Team officer came across an altercation involving two males. Fortunately, no serious injuries were sustained. Following enquiries at the scene, a knife was seized from one of the individuals involved. A male has since been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and is due to appear at court on 14 December 2026. Action Taken Against Misuse of the Emergency SystemOfficers arrested a male at an address within the Blandford area following the persistent misuse of the 999 emergency call system. Misuse of emergency services can divert valuable resources away from those in genuine need, and we continue to take robust action where appropriate. Wanted Male ArrestedOur patrol team also successfully arrested a male who was wanted on warrant after failing to appear at court on three separate occasions. The male was identified by a Neighbourhood Policing Team officer whilst carrying out patrol duties in Blandford and was promptly detained. Community Contact PointMembers of the team attended the monthly Community Contact Point (CCP) at Marks & Spencer, Blandford, alongside PC Alder from the Response & Patrol Team. The event was well attended and provided an excellent opportunity to speak with members of the public, discuss local concerns, and gather valuable intelligence. Information received during the session will assist officers in progressing several ongoing lines of enquiry and help shape future policing priorities within the community. Thank YouWe would like to thank residents for their continued support, engagement, and willingness to share information with us. Community intelligence remains vital in helping us keep Blandford a safe place to live, work, and visit. If you have concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in your area, please continue to report them via Dorset Police's website or by calling 101. In an emergency, always dial 999.
